Icarus on the BBC

In December last year we ran a course in Newcastle and had a team from BBC News Defence & Security, World Affairs Unit interview Simon Maryan and David Bellamy as well as our students, most of whom are staff at thenVeterans Launchpad homeless centre, Avondale House in Newcastle. They also filmed some of the course itself and at Avondale House and interviewed a couple of residents.

This piece will b going out today, Thursday 14th February, on the BBC News website and social media. There will be also be a version on BBC radio 4’s World at One programme (from 1pm on Thursday).

We think you will find this an interesting and perhaps eye opening piece where you will hear from veterans themselves, the kinds of issues they face on leaving the military and how hard it has been for some of them to find the help they need.

Please share and help spread the word.

Thank you as always
