Immediate Care Practitioner Testimonials

Last weeks Immediate Care Practitioner course in Aberdeen was attended by a fantastic group that were open, honest and totally engaged in learning the cocktail of information and techniques that we have used and put together over the last 10 years.

There were some wonderful changes that happened for some of them and it was a real privilege to be a part of that process with them. We also have 4 new Immediate Care Practitioners as a result of the course, which enables ICARUS to provide more care for those that need it.

Here are a couple of testimonials from new Practitioners:

Your course was brilliant because it was very informative and very well organised and presented.

Cleary you have put a lot of time, effort and hard work in to creating a training manual that is very informative and the chronology makes it fairly easy to understand and follow.

The practical exercises helped us to dive in and practice the various techniques in a way that gives a complete novice great insight into how to help other people in emotional distress.

Everyone including myself bonded well as a result and the rapport you helped create within the group set everyone up for a very positive learning experience. No doubt these techniques will help us to help others and save lives in the future.

I highly recommend your training course and it should be widely available for those who need it.

Just a personal note from me on how useful I found last week on a personal level as well as what I can now do to help other people in the future.

I cant quite explain it but I personally feel different, calmer, happier and I suppose just me before the baggage arrived. I have spent a fair bit of time since just reading and running through the exercises and finding that to possibly a lesser degree that it is something that I can do on my own. In my 10 year quest to “unfuck” myself I think 50% of the gain has been achieved in the past week or so (who would of thought that pretty much changing your point of view was the key)!

Added to that, I have not smoked and have absolutely no urge too, so for that alone the week was worth it but I got a great deal more out of it than that.

This leads me to my next point, I am a very deliberate thinker and like to be slow to judgement but I believe that I might like to take this further, and by that I mean professionally and personally so would be very open to any suggestions that either of you might have on helpful next steps that I could look into, I shall probably start with the reading list/authors in the booklet.
