As a small non-profit organisation providing a charitable sevice to military, veterans and emergency services we are always looking for funding opportunities. We are delighted to announce that the Veterans Foundation has agreed to support us with an initial grant of £10,000.
This is a fantastic start for us and has really enabled us to deliver so much more and to develop our service to the people we serve. We have developed a new training course that teaches psychological first aid skills and this will not only train other people to be able to use these skills, it also enables us to train other veterans that are either already a therapist or want to start their training with us and to generate our own income and not have to rely solely on funding and donations. Icarus is expanding its network of qualified therapists arouund the country and this generous grant from the Veterans Foundation is providing us with the opportunity to do that.
We extend a huge thank you to Maj Gen David Shaw CBE, CEO of the Veterans Foundation and the board of trustees for seeing the potential in us and agreeing to support us with this grant.
